Our research and services contribute to creating environmentally sustainable infrastructure
We work to understand the effects infrastructure has on the natural environment and on people and provide advice to minimise adverse impacts.
Our work in this area includes research to better quantify environmental impacts, relating to noise, ground vibrations, and emissions into the air. We also assess the likely impacts resulting from wind on buildings and other structures.
For infrastructure developments we are called on to identify and assess the environmental effects across the project and how they can be mitigated where necessary. Our clients include transport planners and operators, building developers and managers, as well as central and local government agencies.
Our research and services include:
- Environmental effects and mitigation
- Future infrastructure solutions
- Measurement devices and instrumentation
- Research design and evaluation
- Resilience to natural hazards
- Roading performance and design
- Socio-economic research and evaluation
- Wind engineering and industrial aerodynamics
